TechEd Europe 2012 – June 26
June 26, 2012These are the sessions I attended today. I won’t bother giving a summary, since you can watch them on Channel9 anyway. So this is just my personal opinion whether I can recommend watching the recordings of these talks or not. And actually, I can recommend all of them!
Keynote
Professional, interesting, entertaining – just as you would expect a keynote of an event like this. Nothing to add here.
Meet the New Windows Azure
Scott Guthrie
As usual – top performance by “The Gu”. Highly interesting and absolutely worth watching!
Windows Azure Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks
Mark Russinovich
Interesting talk and demos. Azure has clearly reached a stage of maturity. Looking forward to Mark’s next sessions.
Curing Your Event Processing Blues with Reactive Extensions (Rx)
Bart De Smet
What can I say - this guy’s a genius. Great talk, great demos. Even as an experienced .NET developer you get to learn new stuff from this guy. Absolutely inspiring! My personal highlight: “IQbservable is just like IObservable with a little wire sticking out” (pointing at the Q letter).
F# 3.0: Data, Services, Web, Cloud... at Your Fingertips
Dustin Campbell
A great session I more or less ran into by accident because Bart De Smet’s LINQ session was already full. But it was really worth it. A nice, geeky (in a good way) kind of talk from a real passionate F# programmer. I learnt about Project Euler – highly interesting!
All in all a very successful first day ending with a great Welcome Reception. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
