After today’s presentation of Microsoft Surface the whole idea about Windows 8 and the convergence of tablets and traditional laptops or PCs got far more concrete.

Surface looks promising - incredibly promising! It triggers the “I must have this device” urge that we only knew from Apple’s products so far. And it has a keyboard!

Surface has everything that it takes to be a real game-changer for Microsoft in the Post-PC area. I for myself cannot wait to get my hands around one of the devices. This time, Microsoft did everything right. They have a great product (both software and hardware), they did the marketing really well and they took care about some tiny little details that really blew me away.

My favorite example of one of these details is the automatic change of the background color, when attaching the Touch Cover of the same color.
